Hakka Dreams (拜山) is directed by Jake Zhang (张俊杰) and Xu Zhou (周旭). It is an episode from YAO – Chinese Folktales (中国奇谭), an anthology animation series in which different creators reinterpret Chinese folklore and regional traditions through contemporary animation.

The film follows a return home that gradually unfolds into a reflection on family, memory, and belonging. Centered around the ritual of honoring ancestors, it moves between everyday life and a more vivid, ceremonial imagination.
